There are three variants of keyboard that can be used with the replica Atom project (from left to right):
'Electron' - fits in the place of the Electron Keyboard in an Electron case
'BBC' - fits in an Atom case
'MX' - intended for a non-cased build - will not fit in an Electron case, V2.0 or later versions will fit in an Atom case (photo is of an earlier version)
The 'Electron' variant reuses the original Electron key switches (plus four extra), likewise the 'BBC' variant uses the key switches from a BBC Computer (please note this board is designed to accept the white Futaba switches, later types may not fit ?). The 'Electron' can be fitted with the original Electron keycaps though I prefer the look of BBC keycaps which look more like original Atom Keycaps. The 'MX' variant uses Cherry MX key switches and is fitted with a standard set of PC keycaps.
Please note none of these keyboards are intended to be used to replace the keyboard in an original Acorn Atom, they will not fit in the case with the original mainboard.
I've added a page which provides some Keyboard Construction Guidance which applies to the Electron and BBC keyboards.
